Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser so it can remember things about your visit.

Cookies we always use

  • Sign-in: keeps you signed in. The mobile app uses a sign-in token instead.
  • Fair use: a random visitor id keeps free limits fair and prevents abuse. It is never used for analytics or ads.
  • Invites: if you open a friend’s invite link, we remember the code so you both get the reward.
  • Security: a bot-check provider on some forms (signed-out shopping, the signed-out support chat, the report form and the contact form) sets its own cookies on those pages.
  • Payments: our payment provider may set cookies on its checkout and billing pages.
  • If you choose to sign in with Google, Google may set its own cookies on its sign-in pages.
  • Preferences: your browser remembers things like an unfinished try-on or closet import, your photo permission answer and the email you used for a sign-in link. This stays on your device.

Our analytics do not use cookies and do not track you across other websites. They count visits and steps with a random id stored in your browser, never your photos, text or account.

Optional advertising cookies

Only if you allow advertising measurement, we use cookies to see which ads and websites lead to subscriptions. An advertising partner receives cookie identifiers and the purchase amount, but not your photos, prompts, email address or card details, and personalised advertising is off. We also remember how you found us, such as the referring website or campaign, and attach it to your subscription checkout. We skip this if your browser sends Global Privacy Control.

    What it’s for: Keeps you signed in on the website.

    What it’s for: Sign-in from earlier versions of the Android app.

    How long: Up to 30 days

  • kv_vid

    What it’s for: A random visitor id that keeps free limits fair and prevents abuse. Never used for analytics or ads.

    How long: 400 days

    What it’s for: The invite code from a friend’s link, so you both get the invite reward.

    How long: 30 days

  • subscription_attribution_v1

    What it’s for: How you found us (the referring website or campaign), attached to your checkout. Only if you allow advertising measurement.

    How long: Up to 90 days

  • _gcl_au, _gcl_aw

    What it’s for: Set by our advertising partner to connect an ad click with a purchase. Only if you allow advertising measurement.

    How long: Up to 90 days

Stored in your browser (not sent with every request):

    What it’s for: Your Cookie settings choice, and that a purchase was already counted (only with advertising measurement).

    What it’s for: The first page of your visit and how you got there, for our analytics and your checkout.

    How long: This visit; up to 90 days if you allow advertising measurement

  • kolors.visitor-id.v1

    What it’s for: A random browser id our analytics use to count the steps of a visit. It holds no account details.

    How long: Until you clear site data

    What it’s for: Your answer to the photo permission step, including one given before you signed in.

    How long: Until you clear site data (an answer given before sign-in: 1 day)

    What it’s for: The email you used for a sign-in link and your email-tips choice while the link is pending, and your sign-in on this browser.

    How long: Until the sign-in link is used (the email-tips choice: at most 1 day); your sign-in: until you sign out

    What it’s for: Photos you picked and a try-on waiting for you, so they survive signing in or checking prices.

    What it’s for: Studio reminders: whether you saw the introduction or the free plan card, how many photos of you were saved (a number only), and an unfinished photo scan.

    What it’s for: A closet import in progress, so you can leave and come back, and suggestions you dismissed.

    How long: Until the import finishes, or until you clear site data

  • kv-weather-band

    What it’s for: The weather you last picked for outfit ideas.

    How long: Until you change it

  • kv.shop.department, kv.shop.hideMarketplaces, kv.shop.notice, kv.shop.pending

    What it’s for: Your shopping choices, that you saw the shopping notice, and a scan waiting for you to sign in.

    How long: Until you change them; a waiting scan: 1 hour

    What it’s for: Suggestions and app banners you closed or already saw, and where you arrived from, so we show the right first screen.

Your choices

Use Cookie settings in the footer to allow or reject advertising cookies at any time. You can also clear or block cookies in your browser, but blocking the sign-in cookie will stop you staying signed in.
