How Kolors makes money

Last updated: October 28, 2026

Kolors is paid for by the people who use it. We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t earn from the stores we show you. Here is how that works, and what it means for your results.

Subscriptions and passes

  • Paid plans and one-time packs, shown with their prices on the pricing page and sold in the Android app.
  • Clothing stores can pay for a try-on widget on their own site (For stores).

Your closet and saved outfits stay free, with no item limits, and nothing locks if you stop paying. Failed or refused looks never count. Website payments are handled by our payment provider; we never see your card details.

No affiliate income

We don’t earn anything from shopping links today. When you buy from a store we show you, we get no commission, and no store can pay to appear in your results or to be ranked higher. If that ever changes, we will update this page first and label every paid link where you see it.

We don’t sell your personal data, and we don’t use your photos to train AI.

How shopping results are ranked

  • Your closet first. When you shop a piece, we first show whether you already own something similar and what it goes with.
  • Match, then price. Store results are ordered by how closely they match the piece (exact matches first, cheapest first), then the best matches from each provider. “Exact” is shown only when there is evidence for it.
  • Availability. Results come from stores that ship to your country and are priced in your currency. Listings that look like replicas are left out, and designer resale isn’t shown first for a piece with no brand.
  • Never commission. The ranking has no input for commission or payment from a store.
  • Prices come from the stores. No price is written by AI. Each price comes from the store’s or provider’s own data and shows when it was checked; a saved find shows the price when you saved it.

What leaves Kolors when you shop

Clothing crops only, never faces. We find the clothes in your photo, crop each piece, blur any face in the crop, and run a separate check that no face is left before a crop leaves Kolors. Hats, eyewear and jewellery are searched by text only. Your full photo never goes to a shopping-search provider: only our AI providers for safety checks and finding the clothes see it.

  • A shopping-search provider receives one clothing crop at a time, a short text description and your country, for the instant Similar, For less and Pre-loved rows.
  • For exact store matches on paid plans, a second shopping-search provider receives a link to a clothing crop, a short text description and your country.
  • Search the web links open other shopping sites in your browser, with a text search or a link to the clothing crop. Those sites apply their own policies.

Shopping-search providers never receive your name, email or account. Crops are deleted after about a day unless you save the piece to your closet. Some of these features are added only when they are switched on. Details are in the Privacy Policy.

What your money pays for

Every look, closet import and shop search runs on AI providers that charge us per image or request, and on hosting and storage. That is why free use has allowances and why paid plans exist. Plans and passes pay for those costs and for keeping Kolors independent of the stores it shows you.
